Location: Lima – Peru
The current Liga1 champion in the year of its centenary. Popularly known as the “U”, the cream team is one of the most emblematic football clubs in Peru. Over time, the club has established itself as one of the teams with the most titles in Peruvian football, thus forging a classic rivalry with Alianza Lima.
At the international level, Universitario de Deportes managed to reach the CONMEBOL Libertadores final in 1972, one of the most important moments in its 100 years. It plays at home at the Estadio Monumental ‘U’ Marathon, one of the largest stadiums in South America, hosting up to 80,000 spectators.
